Large antique meerschaum depicting the Virgin Mary and Child with St John the Baptist. 
Signed Rogeau at the bottom.
Inspired by The Virgin of the Chair by Raphael.
 
The meerschaum was sadly broken by a previous owner. Two large cracks are visible. One has some glue marks at the back.
The black wooden frame has some scratches and imperfections. The shine is gone in large places.
The convex glass has some black marks at the bottom and natural imperfections. Some traces at the back of the glass. 
The paper backing is torn so there is some dust visible on the meerschaum inside.
The original loop at the top was broken and replaced by a small string.

Size frame: 24.8 x 21.1 cm / 9.44 x 8.26 inches.
Size meerschaum: approx. 17.4 x 14 cm / 6.69 x 5.51 inches.
