French antique small figurine made of porcelain in the late 19th century.
Gilded and painted details.
It depicts St Philomena of Rome, a virgin martyr who is the patron saint of children, babies, lost causes, sterility and virgins. 'Ste Philomène' is written in French on the base (partly faded).
She is holding a martyr's palm in one hand and has the other hand on her chest.
She is wearing a crown of flowers and a bright yellow cape.
The top part of the palm was broken.
Marks and imperfections due to age such as colour fading, scratches or stains.
There are cracks visible. That is very common on such antique pieces.
