Antique ebonite (also called vulcanite or hard-rubber) frame with a portrait of Jesus (profile) and a shell Holy water font. Incredibly detailled and ornate.
 
The face of Jesus in the center was painted bronze but the paint has faded in places giving it a beautiful patina. It is placed on what was once velvet. The pile has completely worn off. The velvet is attached to an oval piece of light wood.
The frame has a large crack on one side as can be seen in the photographs. A small break at the top.
Scratches and marks commensurate with age and use.
Some dust incrusted in small places.

Very unusual and beautiful object ready to be hung on the wall!
