Antique French onyx paperweight with an embossed silver metal medallion depicting St George defeating the dragon. The medallion is signed Exbrayat.
Etienne Victor Exbrayat (1879 - 1914) was a prolific  French sculptor, engraver and medal maker.
The scene is beautifully detailed. The dragon has a human torso and is lying on the skull and bones of one of his victims. We can also see a landscape and castle in the background.
The silver coloured medallion is positioned off-centre on the onyx base. 
Some surface patina and small scratches to the metal. 
The onyx has small scratches, tiny chips and surface marks. 
Metal underside has scratches and stains.
