Beautiful high relief portrait of Jesus Christ signed Mattei.  Louis Octave Mattei was a French sculptor and medal engraver in the late 19th / early 20th century.
This piece is a reproduction of his work. The details are beautiful! 
Mid-20th century.
Made of plaster or calcareous stone. 
In a metal frame with round convex glass. Small loop at the top to hang on the wall.
Stains on the metal and scratches on the glass.
A previous owner added some white plaster at the back probably for a repair.
A bit of dust inside the glass. Scratches visible on the glass.
Please note, the flowers and books in the photographs are not included.

Approximately 6.5 cm / 2.36 inches thick.
